Tritium Night Nights and FIber Optics

A heck of a lot of Trijicon night sights are sold ever day. These "see in the dark" sights replace the iron sights on your weapon. Night sights have small vials of radioactive tritium inside that glow with no ambient light. The actual Tritium aiming points are sealed with aluminum and a clear sapphire lens that lets the radioactive phosphor lamp be seen in any conditions.

Fiber optics are completely different than tritium night sights. They do not glow without ambient light. They are certainly brighter in the day time than night sights because they channel available light to the end of the fiber where it is installed in the appropriate section of a sight for the most effectiveness. But they are not night sight, needing light to be useful.

Be careful while cleaning your weapon that has either night sights or fiber optic sights installed. Many solvents will cause damage on either of these sighting systems. Night sights also have a life span of ten to twelve years, while fiber optics will last forever unless you break them or melt them with chemicals.

Easy Upgrades for your Black Rifle

We carry many items that will upgrade your guns. A few that come to mind immediately are the: Badger Ordnance Tactical Latch and the
Hogue Grip.

The benefit of the Badger Latch is the extended charging handle which allows easier access while charging your rifle. Normally, the ocular lens of a scope is positioned directly above the charging handle and is a pain to access. The Tactical Latch extends it out for easy charging. The Badger Ordnance Tactical Latch is currently $21.99 at Cactus Tactical.

Another nice aftermarket product is the Hogue Grip. Hogue makes very good rubberized handgrips for just about every pistol grip gun. Compare the standard hard plastic grip with the Hogue rubberized grip. It provides enhanced gripping for a more finger form fit and reduced hand slip. The pictures below show the difference between the standard and the Hogue. The Hogue Grip costs $17.99.
