Streamlight TLR-1 weapon light now with strobe

Streamlight® Inc., the leading provider of flashlights for tactical and hunting enthusiasts, has introduced the TLR-1® s, a strobe-equipped version of the industry leading weapon mounted light.

The TLR-1®s provide 8,000 candela peak beam intensity and 160 lumens measured system output. The C4 LEDs are impervious to shock with a 50,000-hour lifespan. In addition, Streamlight’s proprietary deep-dish parabolic reflector provides a long-range targeting beam with optimum peripheral illumination to aid in navigation.

The TLR-1® s is made with 6000-series machined aircraft aluminum with a black anodized main body finish.

The TLR-1®s provides up to 2.5 hours of continuous runtime to the 10% output level, with solid state current regulation for consistent illumination level.

It offers a momentary-to-steady on-off switch, readily accessible by either right or left hands. The strobe feature is activated within 0.4 seconds of a double tap of the momentary paddle. It also features a tethered battery door and latch mechanism that prevents battery door loss while providing easy battery replacement.

The TLR-1®s weighs 4.18 ounces and is 3.26 inches in length. Powered by two 3-volt CR123A lithium batteries, which have a storage life of 10 years. The TLR-1®s features an IPX7 rated design, making it waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Backed by Streamlight’s limited lifetime warranty.

The AFG:
AFG falls into the category of Theory Based products. Simply put, these products are designed to enhance weapon performance and user interface beyond what is currently available. Because these products do not simply replace an existing weapon component, there is an understanding with Theory Based Products that simple plug and play doesn’t apply. They require education by way of instructions, training, and familiarization with the product to become proficient, and only then will the benefits be realized. The primary difference between the AFG and standard vertical foregrips is weapon controllability. This is a direct result of hand position, grip style and body mechanics. Below is a detailed description of the Theory behind the AFG.

The Magpul AFG puts the hand in a position called supination. Supination occurs when the hand is held with the palm facing up and the knuckles towards the ground. This puts the musculus supinator muscles in extension with most weapon movement coming from the distal radioulnar articulation. (wrist joint) With weapon articulation coming from the wrist, the muscles being in extention, and the supination muscles being stronger than pronation muscles the AFG actually reduces shooter fatigue and enhances point control like no other firearm grip on the market
